Help Center / Company deposit
🛡️ Company deposit
The scariest part of remote work is not a failed negotiation — it is finishing the work and never getting paid. A company deposit is built for that: the employer voluntarily freezes funds on the platform; the job card shows amount and validity in public; if a wage dispute is upheld, that money pays the seeker first.
In one glance
- The deposit is not a platform fee — it is frozen collateral in the employer’s own wallet
- Once paid, it is printed on the job card — amount and validity cannot be faked
- When something goes wrong, funds are already on the platform — no need to beg for a transfer
- To get the money back, the employer waits until the last hiring post is 3 months old, then staff review
Who can pay, and how
- Members who have published a hiring post see “Company deposit” under “My wallet”
- Path: Bot → Member center → My wallet → Company deposit → Pay deposit
- You choose the amount; min/max follow what the bot shows; top up first if balance is short
- After payment, balance freezes; you can see it anytime and add more later
- Hiring side only — seeker posts do not use company deposits
How it shows on job posts
- New hiring posts after you pay show “Deposit $amount” on the card image
- Validity is also shown: 3 months from that post’s publish time
- Each post has its own clock — earlier posts expire first
- Posts published before the deposit will not retroactively show it — republish to attach it
- Seekers who apply during validity are covered by that deposit
If a wage dispute happens
This is the core of company deposits. The full flow is written here so both sides know the rules before trouble starts.
What counts
- Agreed wages, day rates, or project fees due and unpaid — or endlessly delayed
- Work delivered and accepted, but settlement refused with excuses
- Unjustified cuts: agreed amount shrinks at payout without a mutual basis
- Unpaid trial/internship work after dismissal
- One-sided walk-away after start, with no pay for completed work
Not handled here: pure verbal interest with no real start;
quality fights with no agreed standard either side can show;
disputes unrelated to wages. We may advise, but deposits will not be touched.
Process: six steps
- 1 · Talk first: Give a clear settlement deadline. Many cases are just stalled — talking first saves everyone time.
- 2 · Raise it on the platform: If stuck, open Member center → Wage dispute help and fill counterparty, amount, and story.
- 3 · Both sides submit evidence: Chat screenshots, offer messages, transfer records to the bot. The other side gets the same evidence window. Only verifiable materials count.
- 4 · Member vote: A privacy-redacted summary goes to voting members — support seeker / support company / insufficient evidence. One vote each; parties cannot vote. Tallies are public so the process is not decided in a back room.
- 5 · Staff ruling: Combining evidence and votes, staff set payout — how much, to whom, and why — and tell both sides.
- 6 · Pay from the deposit: Upheld amounts move from the frozen deposit to the seeker’s balance. The seeker withdraws themselves — no waiting on a company transfer.
Why “seeker first”
- Funds sit on the platform: frozen at post time; a ruling can move them immediately.
- Seeker is paid first: deposit refunds for the company wait until disputes are cleared.
- Deposit stays locked during disputes: you cannot owe wages and withdraw the deposit.
- Records stay visible: payouts appear in both ledgers; both sides are notified.
How to prepare evidence
More concrete evidence means a faster ruling. Useful categories:
- Agreement: salary chats, offer messages, contract screenshots with amount and cycle
- Work: schedules, hours, deliverables, submit/accept threads
- Settlement: partial transfers and reconciliations showing what remains
- Collection trail: full chase conversations — not a single cropped line
- Identity match: company number or post link so we map the right employer
Keep full context and timestamps on screenshots.
Forgery, splicing, or misleading crops get the case rejected and can restrict the account —
that rule applies to both employers and seekers.
After a payout
- The company’s deposit balance drops by the payout; cards show the reduced amount
- If the deposit hits zero, new posts stop showing it until they pay again
- Repeat upheld cases tighten posting and display rights
- If not upheld, the deposit stays; both sides get an explanation
Boundaries
- We are not a labor tribunal or a court. Within platform rules we use the employer’s own deposit to cover seeker losses first.
- Payout cap is the company’s deposit balance at the time. Above that we help communicate — we do not overpay from others’ money.
- Using the platform does not block legal claims elsewhere; you can take our records with you.
- Employer rights are protected too: weak evidence, bad-faith claims, and flip-flops are rejected.
Who can vote
- Monthly and super members vote — one vote each, locked after cast
- Parties to the dispute cannot vote on their own case
- Votes close on a deadline (usually 72 hours)
- Votes inform the ruling; evidence still decides — staff explain the outcome
- Open Bot → Member privileges → Dispute votes to see open cases
Tips for seekers
- Prefer posts that show a deposit — especially long roles and pay-after-work setups
- Confirm amount, cycle, and scope in writing before you start
- Check validity — if it is about to expire, ask whether they will renew
- Raise issues early, before chat logs disappear
Tips for employers
- A deposit is the cheapest trust signal — better than a hundred “we’re legit” lines
- Size it to cover about one payroll cycle so seekers feel safer applying
- Pay on time and the deposit returns intact after the window
- If there is a disagreement, submit your evidence promptly — it will be weighed
How to refund
- Wait until your last hiring post is 3 months old, then tap “Request deposit refund”
- A new hiring post during that window restarts the clock from the newest post
- Open disputes block refunds
- Staff review and approve; funds unfreeze to your balance for withdrawal
- After refund, new posts no longer show a deposit
Company deposits and commission-post holds are different: commission holds freeze per commission post for referral payouts;
company deposits are company-level trust covering wage disputes. They do not consume each other.
